Channel 5 commissions "Why?"
(10 August 2000)

Channel 5 has commissioned a new educational animated pre-school series, entitled "Why?" from distributor, Monster! Distributes.

The 24 x 2-minute series, produced by Dublin-based Brown Bag Films, explains in a simple and colourful way what things are and how they work. Each episode focuses on a specific theme and asks the question "Why?": Why are there clouds? Why do I sleep? Why do I laugh? Written by two primary school teachers, the series was extensively researched in the classroom.

Nick Wilson, Controller of Children's and Religious Programmes at Channel 5 said "We are delighted to have this series from these young animators and hope that it will be the first of many. The series is very informative - and I'm sure Channel 5's growing pre school audience will love it!"
