A CHEEKY MONSTER IS BORN!

CHEEKY, the UK kids production and distribution company has expanded its development and production base with a new company in Dublin, Ireland. The company has been formed by CHEEKY CEO Malcolm Parry and media entrepreneur Mick Pilsworth who was previously CEO of the Chrysalis TV Group and now heads AIM-listed Motive Television PLC.
CHEEKY, has also entered into a development and distribution venture with Dublin based MONSTER DISTRIBUTES, to jointly develop and exploit kids entertainment projects across all media.

Monster has had its busiest MIPCOM and MIPCOM Junior yet, with 7 programmes screening to huge interest, including 164 screenings alone for pre-school animation Im an Animal, 52 x 2 minutes. It also enjoyed the successful launch of its new programmes; Slim Pig, Im a Dinosaur and Anna and the Moods.

We've just signed a deal for the UK's Channel 5 to commission this series which has also recently been sold to TV Ontario, Knowledge Network Canada, STV12 Singapore, Homechoice and MMX International in Korea. This is a particularly important development as it makes Why?, together with The Storykeepers, the only Irish animation series to have been commissioned by a UK broadcaster and sold internationally.

The ITV Network Centre has commissioned a second 13 episodes of the hit animation series The Storykeepers. The new series, produced by Shepherd Films, and distributed by Monster Distributes will be delivered in Spring 2001 for broadcast on Sunday mornings.
